I'm not sure if I'd love the book as much as I do if I hadn't seen Apocalypse Now first. Hearts in Darkness is a quick read with a really unique and completely fun premise.
At first glance this seems like it could be once of those darker romances, where the heat is mixed with a heavy story…but in reality Hearts in Darkness has a very light tone to it despite the heavy topics they two characters breech. Hearts of Darkness is a terrific film that really plunges the viewer into the action of what it was like to make this cinematic classic.
I'd be remiss if I went through a review of Heart of Darkness without mentioning Apocalypse Now, one of my favorite movies of all time, and nearly as exhausting as the book (if such a thing were possible).
