FTA Recognises Work Of Aldi With Roadworthiness Award.

Aldi’s Atherstone Regional Distribution Centre has received a 2019 Roadworthiness Award from FTA, the business organisation representing the interests of the logistics sector. The award recognises the supermarket’s high standards when maintaining its fleet of vehicles and trailers and controlling safety related defects.
FTA provides vehicle inspection services to organisations that are keen to achieve the very highest levels of safety and compliance and its Roadworthiness Awards are designed to encourage and reward best practice in compliance with vehicle condition legislation.
Announcing the award, FTA’s Senior Contract Manager, Eric Higham said: “I’m delighted to present the prestigious Roadworthiness Award to Aldi’s Regional Distribution Centre in Atherstone, in recognition of the excellence it has achieved in vehicle safety and its commitment to maintaining the best standards of compliance and vehicle condition.
“This award reflects the very high benchmark set by Aldi and I would like to congratulate everyone involved in the efforts that are obviously being made to ensure the fleet is safe, legal and efficient at all times.”
Aldi, the UK’s fastest-growing and fifth largest supermarket chain, was awarded The Grocer Magazine’s ‘Grocer of the Year’ (2018) and now has over 830 stores. It was the work of the Atherstone Regional Distribution Centre in particular that was recognised for its high standards in controlling driver and maintenance related safety defects that ultimately won the FTA Award.
